Waniya Healing
Waniya (wah-NEE-yah): The breath of life; that which makes a being live.
The word comes from the Dakota Sioux language. We are told that at the beginning of the history of mankind, God Himself created a human being in His own image. He breathed the breath of life into him, and the man became a living soul (Genesis 1:27, 2:7). Ancient Scriptures also say that if God were to withdraw His spirit and His breath, that all flesh would perish together and man would return to dust (Job 34:14-15).
This breath of ours is the link between the body, mind, and spirit. The first breath signals our birth and the last breath lifts our spirit from our body, leaving our body on the earth and taking our spirit to eternity. For every moment in between, it is inviting us to be present, and waiting for us to remember. The heart of Waniya Healing is to return to the beginning. When seeking to restore health, we must address the human being, not the human body alone.
Connecting to our breath again is the first step in our journey to health... and to remembering who we are.
At Waniya Healing, we use the power of touch and the practice of yoga to facilitate this process. Healing moments rarely happen on our own. When we find renewed hope in God and strength in each other, our confidence is restored to live our life and complete the work we are meant to accomplish in our time on earth.
